To cater to the great needs of multirotor in the market, HobbyWing developed X-Rotor series of ESCs, which have solved problems often occurred on multirotor. First flight experience:
This flight was with a 580mm quad. We installed a red XRotor Pro 25A in the front and a black one at the tail to make it easy to recognize the head’ direction. The specified parameters are as followings:
- Aircraft: 580mm quadcopter
- ESC: X-Rotor Pro 25A
- Motor: C3508 KV415 brushless motor
- Propellers: 1242 CCW/CW
- Flight controller: DJI NAZA-M V2
- Remote controller: DJI DT7 & DR16
- Battery: 6S 5000mAh 25C LiPo
After installation, there is no need to make complicated settings. In the first flight, we tested the ESC using three modes: GPS, ATT and manual, and we can feel obviously XRotor Pro 25A’s nice performance when the mode was changing, especially the deceleration and brake functions. It could adjust quickly to fit different modes. When it was under manual mode, i felt i was controlling a helicopter! Very good to control. In addition, the high-speed descend function is enhanced. It adds synchronous rectifier, which makes it still stable under fast descend.
In the previous situations, this quad could fly about 22 minutes cooperating with ESC of the brands. But this time it could fly up to 25 minutes1 so we can see that the DEO synchronous rectifier greatly boosted the efficiency.
