If you are looking for a great receiver, this FrSky D4R-II is just great. It is in really good quality, cheap and very light. I was surprised it is so small. It is said that it is in size of 40*22.5*6mm, weighing only 5g, but that’s good. Besides, it came with the added bonus of telemetry. Coupled with a FC accepting CPPM, you can access up to 8 channels, and is working as it is on 4 channels using standard wiring and 6 channels using PPM mode. If you plan to use all 8 channels, it’s suggested to flash a special F/W.
FrSky D4R-II is no problem to be paired with Frsky DFT module in my Futaba transmitter. Actually, it is also compatible with FrSky Taranis or XJT, DJT, DHT and DHT-U modules. Cherry on the cake, the telemetry information can be upgraded with information collected from FC and a direct RSSI output can feed your favorite OSD.
What’s important is that it is fireproof. Shrink tube at my battery connector got worn of with positive wire touching zmr250 frame which caused heat in top plate, and while in the air d4r antenna that was touching the top plate went on fire. To my utmost surprise was that there was no harm done to this receiver. FrSky D4R-II is a really awesome receiver! I recommend to everyone.
